Tonight, Valve released a new update for Counter-Strike 2, starting Season 2 of the Premier mode. Besides changes to the map pool, the most interesting part is a brand-new feature: "Protected Items" — a system that helps protect your inventory from hackers or scams.
What are Protected Items?

According to Valve, players can now cancel all item trades made within the past 7 days. This is very helpful if your account is hacked or if you get scammed.
Valve wrote:
“If you lose access to your account or get scammed, you can cancel all Counter-Strike item trades from the past 7 days.”
To use this feature, go to Steam Support, click on “Item Help”, and follow the instructions. After that, all your traded skins from the past week will be returned.
However, there’s one important note: your account will be partially restricted — meaning you won’t be able to trade or exchange items for 30 days after using this feature.
Other changes in this update
Besides “Protected Items,” this update also includes map pool changes and economy adjustments. If you often play Premier mode, you’ll definitely notice the difference.
